TRAINING CANCELED TODAY, JANUARY 27th

E-mail Print PDF

Training for Juniors and DEVOs tonight at Birch Hill is CANCELED due to cold.  I'm really getting sick of saying this... c'mon weather!!  Temps are hovering around -38 to -40...BURR.

Stay warm and check back tomorrow for updates on Saturday training.  If the weather stays as they've predicted, we will most likely be canceled, but you never know in Fairbanks, so check the website by 10AM and there will be an update.

Also, I have this years Austria Summer Training Camp 2012 information.  Please contact me if your athlete is interested in this amazing opportunity that they will remember and take with them for a life time!  Camp runs from May 19th-May 29th, 2012 in Hintertux, Austria.

FASC 2011/2012 Season

Program Fees for 2011- 2012 Season

For over a decade our program has been predominately funded by income revenue from the FASC nonprofit pull tab account. Consistency in the non-profit pull tab income/revenue has enabled FASC to maintain a positive account balance for many years and has offset Head Coach/Program Director expenses, travel costs for coaches, equipment and club insurance/dues to USSA. These expenses have been paid for completely from our nonprofit pull tab account and the steady income from pull tabs has meant that we have not had to fundraise as heavily as other sports clubs and have been able to keep program costs to skiers from rising.

Unfortunately, revenue from our non-profit pull tab account has been steadily falling for the past four years and the club is faced with a very reduced operating budget. A shortfall of approximately $8,000 has been identified for the coming season. Our board of directors recognizes that continued spending will deplete our club’s positive cash balance if not corrected and is currently analyzing both the expense and income sides of the budget. As a result we must increase the rates of our programs this season.  This is the first rate increase in nearly 10 years. FASC Program fees for the 2011 – 2012 Season will be:

· Mighty Mites (ages 6 to 10) Saturdays only - $200

· Devos – (11 –15 years old) One Day $250 or Two Days $350

· Juniors  - (advanced skiers ages 11 to 18) $500

As we are aware that for families with several children skiing this is large expense and therefore the fee can to be split with 50% paid at registration (Fall 2011) and the remaining 50% balance paid by January 15th, 2012. The remainder of the balance will be expected to be paid in full even if you child does not ski the entire season as FASC must still carry that skier on our club insurance for the full season with USSA. In addition, balances will be expected to be paid in full before your skier travels to out of town races as the club can no longer “foot the bill”.

We are urging all parents and volunteers to become active in the fundraising efforts as it directly affects the program fees. In addition to our existing fundraising events (Ski a thon, TGR Movies) that our organization has sponsored through the years, new and additional fundraising will be planned and we will of course need volunteers to help generate more revenue for the club. If you have an idea for fundraising please let us know. We’ll have more information also at our general membership meeting about approaching sponsors as a source of generating income as well.
